✨ Another Outstanding Chapter in Our Global Journey

Our TCA students delivered another remarkable performance this summer at the 50th edition of the Internacional d’Escacs Vila de Sitges Open. With inspiring results across Groups B and C, the team showcased skill, resilience, and growth on the international stage.

🔹 Group B

Krishiv Shah finished as runner‑up, undefeated with 7.5 points (six wins, three draws), tying with champion Maksym Lehinovych of Ukraine. Paul Ashton Nguyen placed 7th with 7 points, just half a point behind the leaders. Jake Chong gained an impressive +103.6 rating points, finishing 17th with 6 points — positioning himself among the world’s best for his age (9 years). Duncan Chiu also delivered a strong performance, scoring 5 points and gaining +98.4 rating points. Chloe Lau showed resilience, finishing 54th with 4.5 points and gaining +4.5 rating points.

🔹 Group C

Isaac Say emerged as champion, scoring 7.5 points with seven wins, one draw, and one loss. Despite a final‑round setback, his five consecutive victories against opponents from Scotland, China, the U.S., Ukraine, and Armenia secured first place. Owen Mok finished 11th with 6 points and a 1658 performance rating. Yantao Huang scored 5.5 points, placing 18th and gaining +97.6 rating points.

Congratulations to all our students and families! Every tournament is a mark of the children’s growth; every breakthrough is the best reward for their hard work.

So far, across the two Spain tournaments, our groups of students have collectively gained over 2,000 Elo rating points — an extraordinary achievement, and we are truly proud of their results.

And the journey continues — there will be one more travel program this summer: the TCA Travel Program Hainan 2026, taking place Aug 20–30. 🌴♟️
