On June 8, 2025, The Chess Academy Hong Kong successfully hosted the 15th Annual Hong Kong TCA Scholastic Championship at the French International School. This year’s tournament built upon the successful team format established in previous editions, featuring 82 teams from 30 local and international schools, showcasing the dynamic chess community in Hong Kong.

The championship also served as a charity event, with ActiveKids donating a portion of the proceeds to the Children’s Medical Foundation, supporting underprivileged children in Hong Kong and China.

To enhance the tournament experience, The Chess Academy introduced Zbee the AI Being to partly MC and provide chess insights at the event’s opening. Partnering with Being AI®, TCA offered players a unique opportunity to interact with AI, gaining insights into chess strategies and information about holiday camps and logistics.

Tournament Structure

The championship was organized as an inter-school team tournament, wherein teams of four players from the same school competed against each other. This format not only fostered camaraderie among teammates but also encouraged a healthy competitive spirit, as schools vied for supremacy on the chessboard.

Participants demonstrated exceptional skill and determination throughout the event, making it a memorable experience for players, coaches, and spectators alike. The tournament served as a platform for young chess enthusiasts to showcase their talents, learn from one another, and further develop their passion for the game.
